WHEREAS, the Village of Pleasantville Board of Ethics has reviewed the Village of Pleasantville Village Code of Ethics, Chapter 14 of the Village Code, and recommended certain amendments to Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Village Code of Ethics to clarify certain provisions of the Village Code of Ethics and to provide guidance to Village employees and officers concerning potential conflicts of interest; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Pleasantville Board of Trustees has evaluated the amendments proposed by the Board of Ethics and is considering an amendment Chapter 14, Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Village Code; and 

WHEREAS, the Local Law amending Chapter 14, Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Village Code was introduced to the Village Board of Trustees on April 24, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the proposed action is a Type II Action pursuant to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and no further environmental review is required; and

WHEREAS, the Village Board of Trustees is fully familiar with the proposed local law.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Pleasantville will hold a public hearing on May 8, 2023 at 8:00 p.m., at Village Hall, 80 Wheeler Avenue, Pleasantville, New York, and via videoconference, which will include opportunities for interested members of the public to provide written and oral comments on the proposed local law.
