WHEREAS; the Village Board of Trustees is concerned about the pedestrian safety conditions on the Saw Mill River Parkway at Pleasant Avenue and Grant Street; and

WHEREAS; this pedestrian grade crossing is heavily utilized by Village residents, including children walking to school and commuters traveling to the Pleasantville Metro North Train Station; and

WHERERAS; the Village seeks safety enhancements at the pedestrian crossing by the New York State Department of Transportation and believes the implementation of a red light camera would be beneficial to pedestrian safety,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; that the Village Board of Trustees hereby requests that a red light camera be placed at the traffic signal located on the Saw Mill River Parkway at Pleasant Avenue and Grant Street.
